TRANSPORTATION
CARPOOLING:
Post on your local chatboard/forum that you want to go to Event 'X', include the date, location & website someone could get more info. Make a call for action. Ask that people who also want to go... and would like to go together email you. (Include your email address in the body of the note.) If you have a car & intend to drive, let people know when you are available to leave/return & how much space is still available.
FLIGHTS:
Check the
'Flight Search' section of this webpage. Ask around for people's favorite flight search tools and if you find something good thats not on my page, let me know.

ACCOMODATIONS
BILLETING:
Where ever possible try to get billeting. Always look into this as far ahead of time as you can as it increases your chances of getting space.
HOTEL/MOTEL ROOMS:
Sharing space is a great way to make the costs of a hotel event less.

SUSTENANCE
Away or at home, you still have to eat. Just remember there are lower priced alternatives.

FOOD:
Go to grocery store for food. Keep in mind refridgeration or lack therof, space etc. If there is a kitchen available to you, offer to cook for yourself & others! (Its not only thrifty, it can be a fun, bonding experience. Ask about food preferences/allergies/lifestyles choices ie/ veggie/vegan. Try to hit a grocery store & NOT deplete your host's supplies, after all they are already giving you a place to stay. DO NOT leave a mess in their kitchen, clean up after yourself.)
SNACKS:
Try to bring some with you. They can be pricey at hotel stores or mini marts/convenience stores depending on whats around. Also there are times when you are located in places that do not have anything aroudn food wise and you need to have food inside you, in order to have energy to dance. Gum & breath mints are good things to bring with you as they are essencials on a dance trip. Granola/energy bars can be great pick me ups, don't take up much space a& do not require any refridgeration.
Remember to keep hydrated!!! Nalgene/water bottle, Gaterade crystals (I like to have this with me to help replace the electrolites!), Ithacrack/Emergen-C... helps fight the ickie, sickie germs. (Remembering to wash your hands often and especially before eating helps too.)
ALCOHOL:
I hate to say this, but if you don't have the $ cut back or don't drink.
Flask? (Please do not bring these to establishments that serve. Its rude, it can in some places be in violation of the venue's liquor license.)
